Peter DerHagopian

Peter DerHagopian is the Staff Assistant at Prime Policy Group and leads the firm’s research initiatives. He drives the firm’s research efforts, tracking legislative and regulatory developments, conducting issue-specific analysis, and assisting with communication strategy.

Prior to joining Prime Policy Group, Peter served as an intern in the offices of Reps. Seth Magaziner (RI-02) and Gabe Amo (RI-01). During his time in Congress, he developed a strong understanding of legislative branch operations, as well as constituent and stakeholder relations. He worked on a number of policy issues, from healthcare to foreign relations, responsible for in-depth summaries of Congressional hearing and interest group meetings.

As an intern in the Rhode Island State House, Peter helped author a housing policy addressing Rhode Island’s housing crisis, which became state law in 2022. He has also published research through the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Energy on sustainable energy systems in Mozambique and Zambia, focusing on mini-grid development and electrical engineering-based educational exchange programs.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government and International Politics from George Mason University. Originally from Providence, Rhode Island, he now lives in Silver Spring, MD. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, traveling, exploring new restaurants around the D.C. area, and is an active member of the Armenian Youth Federation.
